Rather than something romantic, appeal to his inner child and little boy. Bake him a batch of caramel brownies. He will love you forever!

(HE is supposed to get YOU something romantic.)

    ***ADDED***

    GERMAN CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BROWNIES

    3/4 stick butter
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    1 c. pecan halves
    1 can evaporated milk, divided
    1+ c. chocolate chips
    Melted caramels (see below)

In a mixing bowl melt 3/4 stick of butter. Add German chocolate cake mix with 1/3 cup of evaporated milk (reserve remaining 2/3 cup). Mix into a batter.

Spread half of the batter in a greased and floured pan. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 8 minutes.

Pour melted caramels (see below) over batter (after baking for 8 minutes). Sprinkle 1+ cup of chocolate chips and 1 c. pecan halves on top and spread on the other half of the batter. Bake at 350°F for 18-20 minutes. Cool completely before cutting with a sharp knife.

    Caramel Filling:
    1 pkg. Kraft caramels
    2/3 cup evaporated milk (reserved)

Melt one package of Kraft caramels and stir in 2/3 cup of evaporated milk until mixture is smooth.

My boyfriend and I have been on and off for three years now and personal getting him the things he enjoys the most is a good idea because it lets him realize that you remember his favorite things. It shows him you pay attention to him. My boyfriend is 18 and I am 17 we still do the cute little favorite things for each other. It always means more to do it that way. Also have you thought about maybe a personal hand written letter? Teling him all theings you love about him and how thankful you are he's in your life?

If you go with tradition Im pretty sure the 1st anniversary is usually a paper present.. I did this on my 1st anniversary a few yrs back. Made this scroll with 101 reasons I love you, Tea-bagd the page to make it look all old & singed the edges. Also got a photo framed of us and tickets to a show/concert... that way it was romantic, sentimental & we got a night out as well!
