    Is my belly piercing infected?
I got my belly pierced at the end of May. Now it is October and the area where it was pierced is black and sometimes it get stuck still. I have to move it around and when I hit it, sometimes but not all the time, it still hurts. Why is it taking so long to heal?

It's time to have a doctor look at that. Any time a body part turns black, trouble is brewing. That, along with pain, says to me "infection." Your doctor will take a look at it and give you a professional opinion.

I poured neat Detol (antiseptic) on mine, you're not meant to but it got rid of the infection straight away, even though it does cause dry skin.

    Salt water doesn't work :)

When dealing with an infected piercing, do not use antiseptics or any chemical cleansers. This can cause chemical burns inside your skin and can cause poisoning. Antiseptics are for external use only. Salt water does help if you make it the right concentration.

Go to a doctor for one, It's never good if anything turns black. Use a saline solution in the meantime. Be careful taking the piercing out, as skins heals from the outside in, it could trap the infection inside.

Because it is a deep tissue piercing, it takes 6 to 12 months to heal fully, and can be irritable for the first few months. Wear loose fitting clothing and use the salt solution once when waking up and once before bed. Hold a warm wet cloth to the piercing site three times a day to relieve swelling and pain.

Update us when you go to the doctor please
