My girlfriend said she needs space to get herself together. She said she wants me to leave her alone because she's trying to get her life straight. We were together for 2 and a half years and I just don't know what to do.

As heartbreaking as it is, do as she asked and take this time for your own benefit, and be without her. What triggered this decision by her?

I would give her the space she wants and if she comes back its meant to be and if she doesn't them I'm really sorry but it would mean its over.

Going through something similar and at the end of the day all you can do is respect her wishes, give her the space and hope that she comes back. It must be so hard for you but fighting it won't make the problem go away. Take the time for yourself,keep busy & get the support off your friends. You may find that in time she will miss you + come back
