    Std concern please help
Hello, I'm a 26 yo female. I just went to the doctor a few days ago because I was concerned about possibly having an std. The doctor did my exam and said internally everything felt normal and the cervical specimens she took and placed on a slide showed no growth of any infection and/or bacteria. My urine test was also sent out to the lab to check for any growth. The doctor said I had nothing to worry about but I'll still concerned and a little scared.

Do you think I should be worried since she said things looked fine? Or is there still a chance that I may have something.

    Please help

You could test negative today and develop symptoms - and positive lab work - tomorrow. Some infections/disease don't show up immediately.

Did the Doctor suggest that you be re-examined and re-tested after a certain time, such as 6 weeks or 2 months?

No she said just not to worry, and that if my urine test came back positive I would hear something this week coming up. But if I don't hear anything to call after oct 25 to get my negative results.

    I'm just neverous as hell

I'd be nervous, too. I think I'd wait maybe 2 months and go back and get retested just to put your mind at ease.

I know it's difficult but try to rely on what she said instead of being scared - a Doctor said you're OK. I'd trust that she's correct.

    Good luck.

Yes its definitely very hard not to still worry but I feel comfortable with her answer. But until I have that piece of mind from all the results I won't feel 100% comfortable.

    Thanks for your help
