Can anyone answer questions about an Amana refrigerator?
Have an Amana side by side refrigerator/freezer. The fan unit started making terrible noise when the unit would kick back on... pulled it out from the wall last night and cleaned vent over fan and all the dust on the floor and wall behind it. The fan stopped making noise but now the unit runs for hour or more before kicks off for 10-15 minutes then kicks on runs hour or hours and so on. The molding on the doors gets hot to the touch and the upper side on the freezer side gets hot to the touch in a small area. Took everything out of the freezer and reloaded to be sure none of the vents are blocked. Can anyone tell me is this a serious matter that needs a tech called to look at it or is it "normal" that those spots get hot to the touch. Also, is it normal that it runs that long before kicks off for a few minutes?
Sorry, if my explanation is confusing but I don't know anything about appliances and what things are called.

    Thanks for any help!

You need to take off cover to back and wash out coils so they are clean. The unit cannot cool with dirty coils. Once you do this put cover back on or it will not work. Clean it well and yearly or semi-annually. DrTom4444
