    Mystery voltage
14/3 Romex Black has 120 volts, the red has 25 volts on it. It is not made up to any thing. Why the 25 vots?

So are you saying neither end of the red is connected to anything? Is there a 3 ways switch involved with this circuit?

Your probably using a digital volt-ohm meter, which is sensitive enough to measure voltage that is induced into the red wire by proximity to the live black wire in the cable.

    Disregard this voltage reading.
