Hot water bath tap loses pressure
Is this a pump problem or a tap problem.
Tap wasn't turning - changed it but was put on backwards.
Since then the hot water isn't a regular flow.
Turn on 5 seconds after there is no pressure. Turn the tap more and it will stay.
Until I shut off the shower - only cold water will come out of the tap.

If you have hot water elsewhere then the problem lies in the tub/ shower valve,(tap0.
Our problem is that you failed to give us any information that we can work with.
    What's the brand name?
    One handle or two knobs?
    How old is it?
Was it a cartridge you installed backwards?
    Back to you, Tom

Is this a thermostatic valvue assembly?
By that I mean, can the water temperature be pre-set?
If that is the case and the unit was installed backwards, the mixing valvue
Is jambed. Go on line and reference the make and model and review the online manual.
If you can't find it go to www.manualsonline.com/ and look for it.

You may have to get a new center thermostate... but that avoids changing out the shower body... Good luck.

No idea if it's a thermostatic valve assembly. I don't think it is. This apt I'm rent isn't new. Nor I don't think anything was "upgraded".
I do have hot water everywhere else - at times the hot water fades in the kitchen and goes cold. Main issue is the shower! (burrr)
    Brand name - not sure.
    Two knobs.
The landlords "handyman" (not so handy) replaced the hot water knob because I could only turn it on with a lock wrench. When he replaced it I wasn't there - but had noticed to turn on hot water I had to turn tap the opposite way then normal. He know it wasn't on right but left it.. (would that be the whole issue? That the cartridge is on backwards? ) never had this problem till tap was changed.

Landlord nor handyman know what they are doing - figure I could tell them where they went wrong.
I just want a hot shower that doesn't take 5 min to get the water temp right.

    THANK YOU for you help!

Sounds like a cold water stem was installed on the hot water side. Can you call him back to replace it with the correct stem? Let me know, Tom

Perfet - Thank you so much - I will advise my landlord and hopefully she will have her handyman check to see if this is where he went wrong. I will let you know.
There should be a specific stem for the Hot? (hot water stem and cold water aren't the same?)
    Again Thank You Tom..

    END Of The Road!
Sorry it took so long to reply.
FINALLY - my landlord had someone look at it.. his answer " just turn the water on to it's max - then you won't loose the pressure ".. so it still takes 5 min to get the water temp right.
Sigh. not my place - I can't fix it myself - nor pay someone to do it.
Thank You So much for your help! I'm keeping our conversation in case she comes around and wants to have someone else look at it.
