I have a gravity fed well that feeds into a water pump with a bladder. It cycles far to slowly and the water pressure in the shower is atrocious. When the pump comes on for about 15 seconds the pressure is somewhat improved, then for about 45 seconds the pressure feels like you are walking in the rain. I am hoping if I can adjust the pump by removing or adding air to the bladder it will at least be acceptable. Can anyone help me?

Your pump has a pressure control, it determines when the pressure is too low and kicks on. It also determines when the pressure is sufficient and shuts off. This swutch is adjustable. At what PSI does it kick out?

How do I check PSI?

Annie, there should be a pressure gauge either on the pump or near the tank like this:

You need to check three things:
1. At what pressure does the pump cut on? Do this by watching the pressure gauge while listening for the pressure switch to "click" when it turns the pump on.
2. At what pressure does the pump turn off? Again, listen for the click.
3. Check your pressure tank by simply depressing the little air valve at the top. It looks like the air valve on car tires. Hold it down a few seconds as air comes out. If you get water coming out, let us know.

You don't adjust system pressure by adding air to the tank. The pressure switch is where that is accomplished. It is not difficult.
