My mom's been asking me about all my piercings I've wanted for a while. But she's finally deciding to let me get a scaffold piercing for Christmas but only if I want it as she don't want me to get my lips pierced yet. So I was wondering does it hurt to have it done..

Pain is relative. What might hurt for one person might not for the next. For example, I had almost no pain at all after my appendix was removed. Other people had to stay in the hospital for a couple days and could barely walk after.

The big thing is that it depends completely on your threshold for pain. You honestly won't know how much it hurts until you have it done. I've also found that thinking about it and fearing it will make it hurt more.

The above poster is right, it depends on your pain tolerance. I had this done and it was painful, but tolerable. A friend of mine had this done and couldn't tolerate it, and another friend of mine had no trouble with it.

All piercing will have some kind of pain to it. But you should be fine. If you are really worried numb it first with numbing cream.
