I have deposied a cheque of rs 500000 in my a/c which was given to me by sum other person I:e sum other a/c but my bank have not cleared the check when asked they said other person who gave me 500000 cheque there is a hold on his a/c what do you mean by than and what should I do to clear the cheque

It won't clear from your account unless/until the money is available in the other persons account.

This sounds like a scam - you cash a check and return some of the funds to the person who wrote the check.

When you deposited the check the bank should have told you how long it would take to clear. Normally it will be 5 business days, but it could be longer because of the amount and your bank's policy. You should contact your bank and see how long it will take for the funds to be abailable.

It's likely scam money.
