I recently received a reckless driving citation in PA for accelerating too fast on a turn, while driving on a license from AL. I received a letter from PA saying that my "license is suspended for 6 months in Pennsylvania". I do not plan to drive in PA again, but was wondering how this will affect me back home? Are these driving records nationwide? I drive super carefully now of course. Also, how long will this charge stay on record (aka how long will I have to put it down on employment applications)?

The National Driver Registry is nationwide but a few states don't belong to it. Police, employers, and individuals can send in for information (a fee for some).
The 'Driver License Compact' among states may not apply in this case, since you are only prohibited from driving in PA, but you will find out when you go to renew your license if they consider it reciprocal or not. Or you can ask now. Mainy it's for DUIs and injuries and repeat violations.
Job applications generally ask about 'conviction of a felony within X years' and will often say that traffic violations don't count. It depends on the employer. Obviously public service jobs and driving jobs will be more emphatic about this.
I doubt that after your 6 months is up you will run into a job where you will be required to list this.

Since this is not a felony conviction you don't have to put this on your job application.

It depends on what the job application asks you. If you are applying for a job which involves driving you can and will be asked and you need to tell the truth.

Concerning driving in other States, here's what PA says: "Don't think that just because your license may be suspended in this state that you'll be free to drive in other states.

The National Driver Register (NDR) stores information on Pennsylvania drivers with suspended licenses, and makes this data available to other state motor vehicle agencies.

Additionally, the Keystone State belongs to the Driver License Compact (DLC), which means that your driving information will be shared between DLC members, and if you're convicted of an offense in another state, PennDOT will know about it."

I am somewhat confused, though. PA suspended another State's license? You were suspended because you took a turn too fast? Was there an accident involved, particularly an accident with personal injury?

I work in Pennsylvania and what you have explained here is not how I've seen the Law work so I'm curious.

First of all, thank you very much for the prompt responses. But yes, my AL drivers license # got suspended in Pennsylvania, it appears they are treating it as if it's a PA license. From the phrasing, "I hereby aknowledge that my driving privilege is suspended in Pennsylvania" it seems like its currently only PA that is suspended. I think the key issue here will be if I receive a similar letter in the mail from Alabama due to them both having access to NDR and DLC. I am praying that this does not happen, not just because of the suspension, but AL considers this to be a misdemeanor crime and not just a driving offense like PA. I believe some job applications ask questions along the lines of "have you ever been convicted of a crime other than minor traffic violation?" Having a misdemeanor on my record would be absolutely horrible as I just started my professional career after college. I haven't been able to sleep for days because of this stupid incident.

JudyKayTee, I also did not realize how easy it is to land a reckless driving. But I didn't just take the car slightly too fast on the turn, you could hear the tires, so I accelerated pretty hard (seemed like a fun idea at the time on a new car). I would have without a question fought the ticket, but paid it thinking that its just like a speeding violation, I was clearly wrong :(

I would check with AL because IF Pennsylvania suspended your license and AL recognizes that suspension, you are stopped while driving, your current problems will seem minuscule.
