I am trying to find the title of a scifi movie I remember watching years ago. I seem to remember the word "street" in the title. The people in the movie find an old alien space craft buried in the middle of a city while they are excavating for a subway tunnel. The space craft has a bunch of pods that are dormant aliens that start coming to life and killing people when the are disturbed. The aliens look a lot like a giant grass hopper, ring any bells for anyone out there?

Sounds like Quatermass and the Pit

I don't think this is the movie I was thinking of. I remember that there was something resembling claw marks that were left on objects in the area that nobody could understand before they discovered the space craft that was the source of the problems.

After doing additional checking into this question, I now believe that Quinn F had the correct movie. Thanks for your help.
