How does the end of the electric cord coming from the dryer looks like? How many little sticks does it have?

There is NO "adapter". It is either 120v or 120/240V (commonly called "220" by lay people).

Which do you have?

I'm sure you have a 220v plug, all you need to do its change the outlet to match your plug. You can find a outlet at any home depot store or electricall store

Is this a gas dryer with a 120volt power supply cord? If so you cannot use the existing 220volt dryer outlet without changing the wiring and the plug

This is not correct. You change the cord to match the wall receptacle, NOT the other way around.

And the appliance at the end of the cord that matches the voltage in the outlet.

Or you change the voltage in the outlet, by changing the circuit breaker and outlet to match the voltage and amperage needed.

Usually going from a 30 amp dryer to a 20 Amp 120 volt receptacle only needs both. Going from a 20 to 30 amp circuit requires all new wire also.
