Our ISE Pro 17 will not turn off when I twist the lid out. I have to use the plug in the wall to start and stop it, otherwise it runs continuously when plugged in.

This type of Garbage Disposal has typical problems with the collar switch that is controlled by the twist in lid. You can either work on that assembly or, if you are a decent handyman, replace the outlet under the sink with a combo switch/outlet or put an old work box in the wall and switch loop the hot back to the outlet. In either way, the switch will disconnect the power.
