    Frigadare Freezer Problem Help?
Had a power surge from generator and freezer stopped working checked all power connections to outlet and is good, could the Compressor controller starting device be the problem? I've looked at the rest of the wiring and see no problems. Any idea's would be appreciated! Thanks

Assuming a regular house hold freezer, the compressor does not have a controller. The compressor is turned on and off by the thermostat. There is an overload switch, which is really an over temperature device. It is simply attach to the compressor can, usually with a simply spring clip and senses the temperature of the compressor
You post indicates your power supply is a generator. Have you checked the voltage at the outlet. A low voltage supply can cause over heating of a motor. If compressor has over heated it will start again when compressor cools. Low refrigerant can also cause over heating.

Typically if resetting the unit does not work you are in need of a technician to assess the unit. The control board may unfortunately been fried due to the power surge.
