Secured Home Property Tax OR Impound Tax
Hi, I was wondering if an expert can please help me with this question.

Could you please expleain to me why is the city giving me a bill for bi-annually secured property tax payment when I already pay property tax monthly via impound tax? We do not understand. It says in our contract that we paying property tax by the impound method. We had bought a townhouse back in January, 2011, actually, December 29, 2010.

So does that mean we are being double billed for property taxes, or is the city somehow not aware of our contract? Surely, the city must have a record of our contract, or at least something from our escrow company.

    Signed, confused... Thank You

You need to check with the escrow account if they are including the city taxes, They may be doing the state and/or county property taxes but did not include the city. Many, if not most cities do not have property taxes ( at least in all parts of the US I have lived in) So perhaps they were not set up in the escrow.

If so, perhaps the city does not have the billing address of the escrow account
