Two quarter inch dark red lines have suddenly appeared about an inch from my eye. What could cause this? Should I be worried?

They are capillary clusters, that usually occur as we get older.
They are of unknown cause and not studied much because mostly they are harmless and don't mean there is any underlying problem.
Some laser type treatments have been used on them, if desired as elective surgery.
They are also called cherry hemangiomas.
