If the engine cranks and the CEL comes on and goes off after 2 seconds, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II), then focus on the distributor (e.g. replacing the ICM and coil).

You either have a fuseable linkage problem, or a electronic margel is gone.the fuseable linkage runs to your starter from the ignition switch.it may have burned which will melt the metal fuse in half keeping it from making contact. That is something you can do on your own, Trace the wiring from your ignition to your srarter. It will be a heavy thick layer of tape.if that is not the problem, then you will have to have a diagnostic test. Put it on a computer.

I also have to say that it was not running full power from the time I bought it I put new wires, plugs, and rotor button on it.the coil and icm are about $100 a piece and can't afford them at the moment.so not sure what to do till I can get those

Be sure to apply silicone heat transfer grease to the back of the new ICM; otherwise, it won't last long.

Unbelieveable , I was looking around and testing everything and it still did not add up to how it just would not start up it would not turn over or anything. So I got under the dash and started messing around with the clutch pedal and the top little bushing on the pedal it self had falling out so the sensor for the clutch was not engaging... freakin crazy /I could have spent a lot more money and not found the problem
