It was a book I remember from reading as a young teen (10-13). I am now 28.

The premise is that a young girl dreams of a fantasy world to escape reality, where she is being abused. She has an accident and falls in to a coma and gets trapped in the fantasy world. A man and woman from the real world become trapped with her. When they all get out the man and woman get married and adopt the little girl.

It is a three book series. PLEASE! My little niece is in a hard spot right now as her parents are getting divorced. She has fallen back on her religion as her soul way of dealing with this. She adores fantasy books and this combo would be amazing for her. PLEASE PLEASE HELP!
