    Texas Apartment Association Lease
I have a job that is relocating my to another state and I need to break my lease. The property was sold last month to a new apartment company. Is there anything I can do to say the contract is void? The new apartment co is saying I have to pay the remaining 3 months or pay 60 rent (or less if rented before then) plus a break of contract fee. The old company said all I have to do is pay the break contract fee and done. Now things have changed with the new company. Any ideas?

What does your lease say? That's what governs. The sale does not give grounds to break the lease.

If the lease is a standard TAA lease, they are more landlord friendly.
