I have a loose wire on my AC outside Unit. It is tan and for the Fan.
At least I think it is since the fan doesn't seem to be running. Where should the wire connect to? The top of the compacitor (Silver tube about 4" by 1.5") has three connection points. Top, bottom left and bottom right. The top connector has a wire going to it as does the bottom left. But the bottom right has no wires connected to it at this time.

Take a look at the schematic in this answer.

See if there is a push-on connector still attached to the capacitor (on the Fan, or F terminal) with no wire, or maybe some strands only. This would be a good sign you've found the correct place for your tan wire.

Be aware that capacitors can hold a charge even with the power removed. I'd use a screwdriver to short between the Common (or C) and the Hermetic terminals, then between Common and Fan terminals before handling the capacitor WITH THE POWER OFF!

    Best of luck, be safe,
