This isn't something you should need help with, like getting stuck in the middle of a math equation or not knowing who invented what. You mention 4 widely varied areas (recruitment, training, reward and productivity) that could each be a book in themselves. We don't do that here. If you just need one topic, pick the easiest, which might be reward. How do you reward valuable employees (and keep them from leaving) without giving away the company profits?

You should have a faculty advisor who's job is to assist you in your Doctorate program, so I would suggest talking to your advisor who will assist you.
