My husband has not been feeling well for 2 days now. The roof of his mouth is sore and raw feeling and he says it feels swollen. The back of his mouth toward his throat is VERY red. He doesn't have a fever right now but I think that he has had one, because he gets hot and cold easily at times. What could this be? He is an insulin dependent diabetic also so I have to be careful of medications.

He could have scarlet fever or strep throat. Best to take him to the doctor so they can do a strep test on him.
