    Endodontist broke crown
While doing a root canal, the endodontist broke the crown through which he was drilling. When the Novocaine wore off, I realized that I had no more tooth (#19). When I called him, the office staff told me that I would need to go to my dentist and have another crown made. I wasn't told by the endodontist that #20 was sharp and would be scraping my tongue, nor did he tell me that I would need a crown. ( I was still numb when I left the chair). I called my dentist and was told that a new crown would cost at least $500. Does the endodontist have any responsibility for breaking the crown?

Did you contact the endontist and discuss with him that he broke your crown and it will cost $500 for a new one? Just the office staff telling you is one thing to go to the other dentist. If the endontist refuses you can file a claim in Small Claims court and let the judge decide.

Thanks for answering. When I called my dentist, they reminded me that part of my treatment plan was to have a new crown put on that tooth... When I called the endodontist, he said that he would be glad to try and cement back on the crown, but that he would advise that I get a new one. So I feel better. I wish, however, that the endo. Would have told me that there was a great hole that I would be aware of when the nov. wore off.
    Thanks again.
