It will start again in a minute or so and then die after running for 5 or 6 seconds. Is it the auto fuel shutoff solenoid malfunctioning?

It could be a bad solenoid but normally when they go bad they stay bad, dead as a door nail. I'd start by checking the bowl and the float for free movement and needle valve flowing fuel freely when the float drops. Start there
