My cpu will show a light on the power button
My cpu will show a light on the power button
The cd drawers will light up.The monitor light comes
On but nothing comes on the screen.
I can hear the fan running,
And have checked the connections from the cpu to the power outlets.
I haven't gone into the cpu tower.
Please offer suggestions I can do myself.

Test the monitor on a known working computer or test the computer on a known working monitor.

If the monitor works on another computer, then you know the monitor is not the problem. Otherwise, you know it is.

First, do what FadedMaster posted. If the monitor is OK then check the back of the CPU and look where the monitor is connected. If your CPU has a video card then the monitor should be connected to the video card not on the motherboard.

Please do not confuse CPU with tower. The CPU is actually the processor located on the motherboard. The tower is the entire case which contains the different parts.
