I have a friend who lives in Ghana, she is a US citizen, she wants to come back to the US for a visit. How long and how much does it cost to renew a visa or passport. If I decide to help them can you make a money order out to the embassy?

This is a play on a old scam, no I bet you don't have a "friend" I bet you have someone you meet online, most likely on a dating site. And let me guess all of a sudden they are in love with you, or they have money that they have to bring out, but can't let people there know?

Now they will want what 500 to 5000 to get a passport and a visa ?

This is not real, if they are really a US citizen and they need to leave Ghana, all they do is go to the US embassy and they will arrange for them to leave, In case, without proper visa they would be deported and sent back by the government.

So tell us,
1. did you ever actually meet this person
2. if online, what type of web site did they find you on
3. how much money are they asking for, more than 200 dollars is a scam
