I just got my car back from a mechanic and had the fuel pump changed the fuel pressure regulator switched out and the throttle body cleaned. My car is still running BAD. I have also noticed it is becoming harder and harder to start, which wasn't a problem before. The mechanic told me I had a minor fracture in my ignition coil, wanted 500 bucks to fix it I said NOPE, I can buy a whole new distributor for 250. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of what else might be the issue? I need my car dependable again.

500 for a coil? C'mon. That had to be the total bill w/pump right?
I've changed dozens of 95 Corolla coils, and yes they were common so that's your problem and you need to get it fixed.
Go get that 2 fiddy dizy and slap 'er in.

'Course, I'm not here to twist your arm, but me and factory parts have a likin' for each other.
