If anyone thinks they might know this movie please respond it's driving me crazy

It was in theaters between 1993-1997 probably rated PG or PG-13

A woman and her son hit a man with their car accidentally, he suffers from extreme amnesia and they bring him to live with them. The man may be blind as well I can't remember for sure. I remember a scene of this movie where the man with amnesia is laying naked on a lawn chair in the backyard (not exposed to camera) because he lost his memory so bad he doesn't remember things like public decency, etc. I believe the movie has a sad ending, I saw it when I was under the age of 8, and I cried after.

Thank for the response, unfortunately not it. This was an emotional movie, and the man with amnesia had a full beard, mustache and head of hair, most likely not a well known, popular film. Wish I could remember more
