Fan has remote control... wiring from from box.. black-white-red-bare wiring from fan black-white-green.
I know white/white.. green/green what puzzles me is black /black... Red capped off light works from the

Need to know how you connected the wires located on your receiver to the fan wires and the junction box wires to be able to answer the question.

Steve, that red says a second switch somewhere, is there one. This could be a 3 way located at the other end of the room or a second switch right next to the light switch you are using.

Recap that red and think about removing that second switch, its no longer needed since you are going to use the remote. Now you will have only one hot black in the ceiling box with a white neutral and a bare/green ground. The receover input can't be more simple; black to black, white to white and ground to ground. The output side of the receover is black and a white to the fan motor, a blue and white to the light. Ground and white are common to both. If after connecting the way I describe you should be able to control the fan and the light indepenantly with the remote. If not you have a bad receover or remote.

Thank You to all that offered help with my problem.. yesterday after two day of frustration I took the fan down and returned it to Lowe's and exchanged it for another (same model) Installed it same way as before
And low an behold it worked . I think as I expected from the beginning it was a faulty remote. Thank You
