My underage daughter is pregnant to an adult .
My daughter who just turned 17 was impregnated by a 23 yr old man months before.
    He is destitute.
My wife and I have the means to get my daughter through her last year of high school and through college.
We think we can provide a loving and healthy environment for them both but feel the father would be years of pain and distraction with child support and negativity.
Any advice and does his statutory rape figure in?

The age of consent in Ohio (giving us just the state is okay) is 16. Therefore, your daughter was not underage at the time she became pregnant. So no, statutory rape does not figure in.

Your best bet is to find a family law attorney and file for sole custody after the birth as well as child support.

Scott is correct, and please understand this is on the legal board, so moral view points are not given, we stick to a more direct legal approach. If you want to discuss ways to deal with the daughter perhaps ask a similar issue on the children or family board area.

Since the age of consent is 16, she is allowed to decide to have sex with this man. So unless he was a teacher over her or had some authority over her where that may be an issue of "force" no there is no rape.

As noted custody orders and even a visit to a family attorney locally would be great to do, as you progress in this.
