I have evidently stepped on something that is now in my foot. There is a spot on the ball of my foot that hurts when I walk on it. The area is about the size of a dime and the skin looks like it has calloused over the area. I have tried to get to it to see what it is and if I can get it out but it appears to be too deep. This happened a couple of months ago. I thought maybe it would work it's way out but I was wrong. It is not inflamed just hurts. I have been walking on the side of my foot which is now causing it to hurt as well. I don't currently have a family physicians because of moving recently. I don't know it I should go to an urgent care clinic or the emergency room and if they will get it out or tell me I have to go to another doctor a specialist of some sort.

If you continue to walk on the side of your foot, you will create other problems right up to your hip. Go to an urgent care.
