A young girl has an affair with an older man in the shed at the bottom of her garden, gets pregnant and is sent away to a ladies house. She chickens out then works as a waitress in a tea room. Her faather comes in and she goes mental, dancing on tables. At the end of the film she's seen wearing a yellow dress and pushing pram across the green in her home town.
