I'm pregnant... but my sac is empty...
Hello I am pregnant (5wks and 5dys)I had an ultra sound yesterday due to the fact I was spotting. My ultra sound images was blank. I am pregnant but there is no baby in my sac. I'm still puzzled and confused about this. How is this so? My doctor say I'm in "threatening miscarriage" it's a 50/50 chance that I may miscarry or have a normal pregnancy. They say it may just be too early to tell, but at almost 6 weeks there should be something there you think? I need help what's wrong? Where is my baby? I need straight forward answers. I have stopped spotting so am I still going to miscarry? PLEASE HELP!

What kind of ultra sound was it? Vaginal inserted or not? The reason is sometimes it is hard to pick up things depending on how early it is. As far as spotting is concerned and them not picking up any baby in the sac is obviously a concern. Have they done any kind of blood work at all? Because blood work that measures your HCG because by measuring them early and seeing if they are increasing or not are all signs they look at if a miscarriage is possible. So in answering your question it could be too early to tell, but the best approach is to wait and see what happens.
Some people spot and have normal pregnancies other women who spots could miscarriage. Like the doctors said it is 50/50 but the only thing you can do is to wait and see how things go and schedule another ultrasound down the road.

I am so sorry your going through this and it is easy to say but please try to not let too much of this stress get to you. Please let us know how your doing? How much your spotting , etc...

You never know. They normaly wait tell 8 weeks before the can see anything or hear a heart beat. You might want to ask and see if it is possible that the baby is in the floppin tubes( sorry if spelling is wrong). But, try not to stress too much and take it easy. Your baby can feel everything you feel... Hope I was some help
