    Marijuana and Drug tests
    Hullo there.

I have smoked pot before, 4 times throughout last year. They were in spaces of about 2 to 3 months apart from each time.

Last time was last Tuesday. (4th time that I had pot)

    Anyway, here is my question.
If I've only had pot 4 times before --- I'm thinking about applying for a job (Wardsmen, to be specific) at a hospital and I don't know if they would have me do a drug screening test. However, if they do --- would the traces of pot come up in the results?

If it does, what would be a good idea to overcome this problem, which I'm in? I really would like this job, but I don't want my chance of it gone just because I've touched Marijuana 4 times in my life.

    Any answers are greatly appreciated.

P.S: I have decided, I'm not going to do pot; or any other illicit drug, ever again.

The number of times is irrelevant. THC stays in the system about 30 days. If I were you I'd quit smoking it and apply for the job 45 or more days (just to be sure) from the last time you smoked it.

Not doing pot again was a smart decision. Most big employers and certainly hospitals drug test their applicants. There is no known way to cover it up on the test -- besides you don't need to compound the problem by looking dishonest on top of a drug user! Wait the necessary time Rick is suggesting and hope the opportunity is still there. If you have already begun pursuing the job, find a way to stall it legitimately or take a serious risk and speak candidly to their counselor about the whole mess -- it may be your lucky day that they value someone who has learned their lesson about drug use, if you are sincere enough about it. I have always been very candid about my sobriety and it sometimes creates people trusting me more than they would an unknown, even in a work setting. Good luck!

Congrstulations on making the decision not to smoke pot anymore and I hope you get the job you want. Working for a hospital - they do random drug sampling and staff are just informed that day to go and do the test. So staying clean is not only healthy but will allow you to keep your job. Best of all to you.

Thc only stays in your system 3-7 days for infrequent. THC binds to fat cells, so the duration of time that it stays in your system is proportinal to you weight. If you are skinny, most probably you can pass your test if it test is more than a week after the last time you smoked. If you are scared you are going to fail, do a detox program, and take niacin pills. Also eat a lot of fatty foods the days prior to your test, as it will give your fat cells a "fresh supply" of fat with no thc in it. Try not to exercise heavily before you take the test. And as always, the best way to stay clean is to stay sober
