    Removing spyware/adware
    Hi,

For the past few dayz I ve been suffering a lot due to spyware/adware activities on my computer. Some dayz back it started when I used to get pop ups of sites like ctv162.com / etc... and some chinese sites/porn... it kept coming often and then I started restricting those sites in "security" option on IE tools . But still they used to come.

Problems started increasing when my computer started giving useless errors at start up / giving more pop ups / cd won't auto run . Flash disks won't auto play

Then I got very frustrated and formatted my hard disk. To my shock they were still exisinting.

Then I thought that it must have corrupted the RAM . So I got new RAM from shop .

But still now I am getting those pop ups . I have tried many spyware softwares recommended by editors at download.com - have removed watever they could detect but still it is not going .

My problem exists as it is. Can you please help me in solving my problm.

    Regards

    Vivek

Be careful about downloading and trying anti spy ware tools-- there are many that are fake and will install [or report spy ware] trying to get you to buy their product. [Called rogue spy ware tools]
That being said I assume you have run adware by lavasoft, and spybot destroyer both in safe mode?
If so try this program --it really has worked well for me in the past
    ewido - anti-spyware and anti-malware solutions
Run it in safe mode also --edit --note that you did not say which OS you are using --this will only work on windows xp or 2000

    (1) Get you self a good antivirus or a free one .
    (2) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .
    (3) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

If the above steps do not remove the hijack then you would need to
    (4) Download hijackthis

    Hi,
I think some of the recent Spywares/Adwares are really sticky. I had the same problem 2 weeks back. I visited one site and it came from that site I assume. I tried so many things to remove it. A pop up window with some sorts of porn site were coming up and actually such sites are blocked by our ISP but still I was getting a page stating that this site is blocked. I got really crazy. I tried Spybot, Adaware SE Professional, McAfee Antivirus and many other Spyware detecting softwares suggested by some of my friends but this pop was not detected by any of them. At last I tried SuperAntispyware Professional Edition. It was suprizing that the trojan was tracked. It was in my C system32 files and the name was "windows update.exe". Acutally it was a fake one. After the scan I removed all the detected harmful things and now I am in peace.

I have even installed it in my home pcs and it is really very good. There are two versions, a free version and a professional version and ofcourse you have to purchase the professional version after a trial period of 30 days. Try it and I think it will fix your problem. You can download and try it from the following site.
    SUPERAntiSpyware.com - AntiAdware, AntiSpyware, AntiMalware!
    Wish you good luck.
