Used Wrong Form to File 2006 Fed. Taxes
I've always filed a 1040EZ. This year nothing has changed except that I had an HSA account in 2006. I've been told that because of the HSA, I have to file a 1040 and attach a Form 8889 dealing with the HSA.
Our bookkeeper at work e-filed my taxes for me today using an online tax service (TurboTax). I realized when I looked at everything that TurboTax generated a 1040EZ and attached the Form 8889.
Do I need to do something to fix the problem with the IRS now, or wait until I'm contacted by them. I am scheduled to get a refund. If I need to correct the return, how do I do that, i.e. what form and when since I e-filed.
Thanks,
Kay
