Is there a list of book agents and publishers on the internet with information about them so that you can know which you can submit your manuscript to?

You can find a list of agents for your book writing under
Literaryagents.org It has over 400 agents so you will have to do a lot of looking to find the write one Good luck.

Have you seen Google's deal yet? Might be worth checking out: Google Publisher Program.

I think wadeoncapecod's suggestion is a good start for standard publishing.

I believe the post I sent earlier was for AGENTS not publishers And Lulu is a POD publisher you won't make money on them unless you have a good bank account and are willing to shell out a lot of money to promote your book Publishamerica is another POD don't go there , I have been taken for ride with that outfit sorry to say , it is a good idea to check into agents that will work for you and don't get paid unless you get paid and that usallaly 15% of what you make .I guess just becareful who you pick . There are a lot of POD... for you people that don't know what that is ,it's
(PUBLISH ON DEMAND) and then you have your (self publishings outfits such as Dorrance ,Whitmore and Author house ) to name a few , good luck
