Is there a certain amount of one has to smoke to be detectable in a hair strand test
I used to smoke marijuana about 10 years ago, last January I met a guy and we would do it once a month if even at that, the last time I did it was in May 5 and was wondering if it will be detected in a hair stand test I need to take on Monday for a job I am trying to get.

How much did you smoke back in May as it will be present in a hair strand test.

Hair Drug Tests (HDT) usually do not detect light cannabis use. Hair is just not a good matrix for incorporating cannabis metabolites. So there is probably nothing there.

In addition, HDTs usually cover a time span of about 3 months by testing the first 1-1/2" beginning with the end closest to the scalp. Even if you have longer hair they generally would not test beyond that point. So even if there was THC present, the time span in all likelihood negates detection.

A word of warning. Second hand smoke (sidestream) can get into your hair via the sebaceous and sweat glands. So being in the presence of smokers can adversely effect a test. If you have been so exposed wash your hair thoroughly each day for at least a week prior to the test.
