I have a durabrand ptv7601 TV,the red stand by light seems to be stopping the television from coming on,I have the correct remote,but the red light just flickers and nothing happens,thannks.gill

Try unplugging it for a while (like when you leave for the day or go to bed for the night), then try plugging it back in and see if that works.

Is that a CRT, LCD, LCD-LED, plasma, DLP, etc? Honestly, chances are you will be stuck just getting a new one if the above tip doesn't work. A part would need to be replaced and if that is indeed the model number, there's not much of a record of it online, so ordering parts will be next to impossible.
