Help with a wet fireplace - Ready to Burn, Can I?
Lots of rain drips into my fireplace with the big rains we are having. After drying the fireplace box, and the brick is still wet, can I add wood & burn it? The hearth and face of bricks are still wet.

Hi Sign and welcome, I would start with a small fire and allow the bricks to dry slowly.

Also I would consider a cap, like this: Chimney Caps: FREE Shipping SALE, Largest Chimney Cap Selection on Web!

    Good luck and stay warm.

Shouldn't be any worse than burning wet wood. Fire er up.
