We were told last week of Aug that the bank had approved the short sale price. We were then told on Sept 1 that the buyer was being deployed on Sept 20th and that the move out date is now Sept 16th. We were essentially given a 2 week notice. Is there something that we can do to give us more time?

    Hello t:

This is a closing... I suppose you can miss it, but you might lose the buyer... That could cost you a LOT of money.

Not if you want to sell the house. I would think that you would be jumping with joy to be out of the home loan.

So pack up and move or risk losing the sale totally. Do what you need to do to complete the sale or the buyer could sue you for noncompliance of this contract. Selling real estate is never easy, especially for the seller as they must hurry and move or lose the sale totally. Didn't you realize you'd have to move once you got a contract on the home? You should have made plans where you would move to long ago.
