After a missed period how long do I have to wait before I can take a test

I would wait a week or two after the missed period before trying to test using first morning urine. It takes some time to build up hcg, the pregnancy hormone.

I have heard that you want to wait at least a week after your missed period!! I am trying to concevie myself and I have missed my period and took a test and it was negative. Very easy to get a false negative. So yea I'm still waiting I would wait one week!!
