    Terminating child support order
I was wondering if I were to terminate my child support case against my children's father, how it would affect me. I am not receiving TAFDC, but I am receiving food stamps, and my children & I have MassHealth.

If you are on any form of public assistance (even food stamps) most states would not allow support from the other parent to be terminated. And even if you aren't they still generally won't once its been established, because the possibility of it happening in the future is still there.
The reason being keeping the burden of support on both parents rather than the taxpayers.

    Hello smoothy,
You are a little mistaken-all states would not allow it.;)

OK... then its official.. ALL states would not allow it. I wasn't certain it was universal... but it makes good sense that it is.
