Renting a house that will be sold on Sept. 22, 2011 got trustee sale notice
So I'm currently renting a house and I got notification 2 weeks ago that the house is being sold in an aution in I got a trustee sale notice letter posted on my front door. My landlord Is telling me to moved out from the property, she even took her stove and turn off my water on 8/23/11 I started new water service under my name, but Im afraid she will disconnect this again if I don't move out quickly. She said I don't want problems you need to move by 9/12/11 I stop paying her rent this month I have been renting in this property for One year. She is even looking for houses for rent so I can move out. What can I do?

    Hello c:

Nothing. But, there's nothing you HAVE to do. She can't get the water out of your name either... I don't know WHY she cares so much. You being there ISN'T going to stop the sale, and it's not her problem anyway... If she CARED, she would have paid her mortgage and the taxes on the house...

In any case, whoever BUYS the house will also inherit you as a tenant. If you have a lease, they must comply with it. If you're renting month to month, your NEW landlord can ask you to vacate with 30 days written notice. But, your OLD landlady can't DO anything. In fact, you can probably sue HER for turning the water off.

    Keep paying rent.
