Two different water leaks in two days from two upstairs bathrooms?
Ok here it goes. Yesterday I filled up my whirlpool tub in our upstairs master bedroom just in case our power went out from Hurricane Irene (which it did for 8 hours). A few hours later I noticed water leaking through the 1st floor ceiling above the master bath. I drained the water and the leak stopped. I also opened up the vent in the drywall behind the tub to take a look and saw the floor under the tub by the overflow all wet. Now today I take a shower in the upstairs guest bathroom 10 feet away and come downstairs and notice water now leaking from the ceiling above that bathroom. I opened the vent behind the whirlppol tub in the master and everything is dry. Can it be where the two pipes meet? Or perhaps from the air vents that go through the attic and out the roof? Which by the way I went up the attic and all seemed dry. ANy suggestions?

It could be 1 leak following a pipe, wire or something. I would not try to disturb anything, dry up good, tighten any colors, and maybe place several rags around to help narrow down the source.

Two leaks? How lucky can you get? Let's focus on one leak at a time. Whirlpool first. Either pull the front apron or open the access panel behind the drain. Now fill the tub and eyeball the drain. Has it leaked in the last ten minutes? If no then drain the tub a see if anything leaks there. If yes then you have a ruptured drain seal. Click on back and let me know what you find and we'll go from there. Good luck, Tom
