We have a title that a friend left me cause he owed me money now I can't seel it cause it was signed in the wrong place what can I do?

Is there any chance of getting the person to re-sign,

And have you taken it to the DMV and discussed what can be done ?

Of course have you considered putting a lien on the car for the money owed, and when not paid, repo the car and sell it as such ?
