I have shoulder length ethnic hair. I want to dye the tips blue although I do not want the color to stay longer than a couple months. What should I do?

When using a color such as blue on dark hair, you have to bleach the hair that you're dying first, or the color won't take.

In other words, the blue may end up being temporary, but the bleach won't.
