I was sitting at my desk a while after one of my teeth fell out, it fell out normally so there's no problem there. What makes me curious is while it was sitting on my desk I heard a little pop and I watched my tooth split in half on it's own, without any forces being applied to it. Why did this happen? It's not in my mouth anymore so there's really no problem but I'd like to know what causes this.

A change in temperature caused your tooth to pop in half on your desk. I think you should go get your mouth checked out, it doesn't sound like you take are of it good enough. Hosw many teeth have you lost, and how often do you brush and floss ? Most important, how often do you see a dentist or hygeinist?
