Someone bought things for my house on there credit cards we had a verbal agreement that I would pay them back 50 each month. They are now mad at me and they want the whole amount back if I can't come up with 7000 in a month theywant to put a lien on my house... In the state of Ohio will a verbal agreement hold up in count.

It will if you can prove it, but 50 dollars a month does not sounds like a realistic number, interest alone on 7000 would eat up your 50 dollars.

My guess they will consider mediation. You may have to either pay, make larger payments and/or return to them all the things they bought

If you made payments and they can prove it, then yes it will hold up. And I agree with Chuck, paying $50/mth on a $7K balance might not even pay the interest.

So you need to come up with a way to pay them off or settle on a better deal.
